Former Delhi Principal Secretary Rajendra Kumar granted bail
Beside Kumar, other accused in the case are Intelligent Communication System India Ltd. Earlier on July 10, the court had sent Rajendra Kumar and six others to one day’s judicial custody.

On Tuesday, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s former principal secretary Rajendra Kumar was granted bail from a trial court in a corruption case, 23 days after he was first arrested.
The CBI, that had registered this case in December 2015, has alleged in court that Rajendra an “influential” officer, was intimidating witnesses.
Arrest of top state government official had triggered a political storm with the Delhi government accusing Centre of indulging in “political vendetta” and “paralysing” governance. “Keeping in view the overall facts and circumstances, the accused is admitted to bail on furnishing a personal bond in the sum of Rs 1 lakh with one surety of the like amount”, the court said.
It also noted that the CBI has admittedly collected documents showing the impugned money trail.
Taking note that Kumar is a senior government servant and has roots in society, the court said: “The allegations as to whether the company Endeavour Systems Pvt”.
The CBI had submitted that although Kumar and others are joining the investigation, they are not cooperating and it needs to know the exact chain of events in the offence and thus his custody is required.
The court has now ordered Kumar to “not contact any witnesses and “not tamper with evidence”. Ltd. Sandeep Kumar and Dinesh Gupta. Besides Kumar, CBI has arrested Tarun Sharma, a deputy secretary in Mr Kejriwal’s office; Ashok Kumar, a former Delhi government employee considered a close aide of Mr Kumar; and owners of the controversial private firm Endeavour Systems Pvt.

According to CBI, the five accused were allegedly showing undue favours to private firm ESPL which the agency alleged was floated by Kumar for the award of government contracts worth over Rs 50 crore. Kumar had allegedly favoured a particular agency and flouted rules for awarding government contracts.
