Clinton gets Democratic nomination
AMID huge applause in the convention hall and angry protests outside, Hillary Clinton on Tuesday officially became the first woman to run for the White House on behalf of a major us political party.

“I move that Hillary Clinton be nominated as the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate of the United States” Sanders said but he failed to bring all his delegates on line.
In a long speech, the former president said his wife wasn’t afraid of doing the hard, “boring” work to make progressive policies change.
Michelson said she’s not yet sure if she will vote for Clinton in the fall, but she did plan to go back into the convention arena later in the evening.
She’s insatiably curious, she’s a natural leader, she’s a good organizer, and she’s the best darn change maker I’ve seen. Although the roll call outcome was a foregone conclusion, the state-by-state vote saw rowdy displays on the convention floor.
Like many Sanders diehards, Iasella isn’t all that concerned with the fallout should Republican Donald Trump defeat Clinton in November. Several wept and embraced.
Recalling how Hillary Clinton turned down his first offer to marry him, he says he asked a second time by saying, “I really want you to marry me but you shouldn’t do it”.
By the time the curtain fell on the second day of the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, both of the party’s former living commanders-in-chief had taken time to endorse its official nominee.
“I can’t believe that we’ve just put the biggest crack in that glass ceiling yet”.
Clinton’s backing by former White House residents – including former Vice President Al Gore, who endorsed her but isn’t appearing at the convention – doesn’t necessarily speak to the candidate’s popularity among voters. Bill Clinton wrote the first draft of his Tuesday speech himself before sharing it with the campaign.
While he made a forceful case for Hillary as president, his speech was deeply personal and heartfelt, taking his audience back to his earliest moments with his wife of more than 40 years. “However, I think many people don’t know a lot about her. President Clinton shared personal stories that show her lifelong commitment to working to make people’s lives better”.
Polls show many Americans distrust Hillary Clinton, who critics accuse of bending the rules and lacking transparency in her political dealings. “In the spring of 1971, I met a girl”, he said before going on to describe his initial impressions of Hillary.
The Democratic convention drew the party’s biggest stars to sweltering Philadelphia for the week-long event.
The former President slammed negative perceptions about Hillary Clinton as distortions from Republicans after rattling off her biographical high points.
Clinton and Planned Parenthood Action Fund President Cecile Richards watch the first night of the convention Monday.
“Earlier today you nominated the real one”, he said to huge cheers.
His answer: “One is real, the other is made up”.
“You just have to decide which is which, my fellow Americans”, he said.
Clinton leaves the stage after making his speech.
Tace Geesaman, a Nevada delegate and single mom, walked out after Mr Sanders’s plea feeling betrayed. “But for this time, Hillary is uniquely qualified to seize the opportunities and reduce the risks we face”.
But no one doubts that Bill Clinton still wants to be at the center of the action.
She’s tireless and hard-working, gets knocked down but “has never quit on anything in her life”, said First Lady Michelle Obama.
