“I move that Hillary Clinton be selected as the nominee of the Democratic Party of the United States”, Sanders said to cheers.

The ex-president told the Democratic Party convention in Philadelphia that Hillary Clinton was “the best darn change-maker I’ve ever met in my entire life”.

On Sunday, Wasserman Schultz said she will resign as head of the DNC in response to leaked emails that show committee officials worked to undermine Sanders’ his campaign when he and Clinton were competing for the Democratic nomination.

Delegates chanted “Hillary, Hillary” as U.S. Senator Barbara Mikulski of Maryland formally put forward Clinton’s name for the alphabetical roll-call vote.

Sections of the convention hall were left conspicuously unpopulated on Tuesday night as delegates from strongly pro-Sanders delegations, including California, walked out after Sanders moved that Clinton be named the nominee.

Sanders fought back tears as his older brother, Larry, cast his vote for the Vermont senator.

Speakers at the rally charged that Sanders was cheated out of the nomination by Clinton.

“We are the proud home of the former great president of the united states who brought this nation to new limits, William Jefferson Clinton, and the proud home of the next president of the United States, Hillary Rodham Clinton“, Cuomo said.

In the end, however, it was Sanders who stepped up the mic after every state had weighed in and called for the convention to name Clinton as the party’s nominee by acclamation. Elizabeth Warren, who both backed Clinton emphatically, after which Sanders, who’d been moved to the keynote slot, told his delegates nobody was more disappointed than he, but they should consider how much more palatable it will be to support Clinton than to have to explain to their children how they let Donald Trump became POTUS. “I think it was an appropriate act for him, considering his position”, Bauer-Mayorga said. “It is with enormous pride that I cast my vote for Bernie Sanders”. Bernie Sanders’ supporters to fall in line behind Clinton.

“On Election Day, there will be many, many voters – women among them – who will know what they’re doing when they pull the lever”, said Ruth Mandel, a founder of Center for American Women and Politics and director of the Eagleton Institute of Politics at Rutgers University.

Miner, a co-chair of Clinton’s NY campaign, donated $1,500 to help the cash-strapped Sanders delegates pay for their travel costs and hotel room in Philadelphia.

“They wanted her to have this moment in the spotlight”, Gutierrez said.
