Jürgen Klopp convinced me to choose Liverpool — Georginio Wijnaldum
The deal, worth a total of £25M, puts an end to the four remaining years on his contract at Newcastle and he signs a five year deal at Liverpool.

The Netherlands worldwide signed with Klopp’s side on Friday before flying to California to take part in his first training with his new club on Saturday.
The 25-year-old, who scored 11 goals in 38 Premier League appearances for the Magpies last term after signing from PSV Eindhoven, said he was delighted to be joining such a historic club. The Reds, for their part, are rumoured to have an offer of £20mil on the table for the Dutchman, but that is apparently falling short of what the Tyneside outfit is hoping to get for the 25-year old.
Liverpool confirmed a £25million move to bring the Newcastle midfielder in ahead of the new Premier League season on Friday evening. The tweet has since been deleted.
Wijnaldum, who is reported to have cost $43.91 million, becomes Jurgen Klopp’s sixth summer signing after the arrivals of Sadio Mane, Loris Karius, Ragnar Klavan, Joel Matip and Alex Manninger.
It’s always great when a trainer of that kind of ability says he needs you in his team.
Newcastle United could be set to benefit from manager Rafael Benitez’s relationship with Liverpool, with loan deals for Reds players a possibility during the summer transfer window.
“He was watched by the scouts already in his youth days at Feyenoord as a very great talent”.
“Commenting on the prospect of working alongside Jurgen Klopp, Wijnaldum said: “[He seems] a great man – from the outside – because I don’t know how he works yet and I have to work with him”.
He could be a Liverpool player in time to play their pre-season friendly with Chelsea. “He is now at a top club in England and he’ll be at home”.

The Liverpool boss isn’t one to rush out and panic buy a big player for silly money to fill a gap or appease the fans, like we’ve seen at other prominent English clubs (we’re naming no names).
