On Monday, the Delhi chief minister had “saluted” Sidhu for his “courage” in resigning from the Rajya Sabha.

After quitting his Rajya Sabha seat on Monday, the 52-year-old Sidhu remained on what his wife with the same first name, Navjot Kaur Sidhu, called a “maun vrat” on the day of Buddha Purnima. There is no question of his going back, he has never gone back on his words. “And he will serve the State”.
The reports also said Mr. Sidhu’s wife, Navjot Kaur Sidhu, who is a member of the legislative assembly in Punjab, might also quit the BJP. “I definitely think the party should talk to him”.
Sidhu’s decision has left the BJP high and dry as it was eyeing power in the state. The resignation letter has been addressed to Ansari, who is chairman of the Rajya Sabha, official sources said, adding he is likely to accept the resignation.
When asked about Sidhu, she reiterated: “It’s understood that he has resigned.BJP opted to please the Akalis in Punjab by ignoring Sidhu”.
In the past, Navjot Kaur had repeatedly declared that her husband would not return to Punjab politics till the BJP parted ways with the Akali Dal.
Asked if it was the right move on his part, Navjot Kaur said, “He is a spiritual man and everything he does is after listening to his inner conscience”.
On the possibility of Sidhu joining the AAP, she said: “That he will decide”. “I prefer not to carry it”, he said in a statement.
“I follow him blindly”. At least three senior leaders of the party said they were not aware of Sidhus plans.
The Assemble Elections are coming soon and Navjot Singh Sidhu has deep ambition to be the Cheif Minister of Punjab.
“If he is given any other option, he is not prepared”. BJP’s decision not to rock its alliance in Punjab and keep playing ball with SAD just deepened the mistrust between him and the party.

The Sidhu couple has for the past few years been unhappy with the BJP’s central leadership for its failure to stand up to the Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) in Punjab and their disenchantment has increased ever since Amit Shah took over the reins of the party. He had verbal duels with the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal and his powerful brother-in-law Bikram Majithia, who is the younger brother of Union Food Processing Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal. She also added that AAP is another alternative in the state Punjab. “After being in politics, everyday you learn thousands of things”.
