Sarah McBride To Speak At DNC
The staffer for the LGBT rights group Human Rights Campaign grew up in Wilmington, Delaware, and was active in campaigns from an early age, rallying for the likes of late Delaware attorney general Beau Biden.

“The national press secretary for the Human Rights Campaign Foundation will speak at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia this week, marking the first time an openly transgender person will address a major party’s convention”. “That trans people love and dream and hope and fear and cry, just like everyone else”.
HRC President Chad Griffin commented on their website: “Sarah’s inclusion in Thursday’s program is a significant milestone for our community, and it sends a strong message that transgender people and their voices matter”.
McBride said her selection came after the Congressional LGBT Caucus chose her from a list of candidates from the LGBT community to speak onstage.
When Clinton is officially nominated this week, she will become the first woman in the USA to run for the White House representing a major party. On signing the legislation, Gov. Markell said, “I especially want to thank my friend Sarah McBride, an intelligent and talented Delawarean who happens to be transgender”.
The Republican convention last week struggled to approach LGBT issues, despite marquee names like Caitlyn Jenner and Peter Thiel coming out in support of the party.
“When I was coming out [four years ago], I was so anxious that my professional life would be over, that my dreams and my hopes and who I am couldn’t coexist”, she said. I am proud to be a Republican.
His declaration was met with cheers and chants of “USA”.
