The staffer for the LGBT rights group Human Rights Campaign grew up in Wilmington, Delaware, and was active in campaigns from an early age, rallying for the likes of late Delaware attorney general Beau Biden.

McBride said her selection came after the Congressional LGBT Caucus chose her from a list of candidates from the LGBT community to speak onstage.
When Clinton is officially nominated this week, she will become the first woman in the USA to run for the White House representing a major party. On signing the legislation, Gov. The Republican convention last week struggled to approach LGBT issues, despite marquee names like Caitlyn Jenner and Peter Thiel coming out in support of the party.
“When I was coming out [four years ago], I was so anxious that my professional life would be over, that my dreams and my hopes and who I am couldn’t coexist”, she said. I am proud to be a Republican.
