There’s Only One Reason Why Christie Thinks Cruz’s Speech Was Awful & Selfish

“And when Donald Trump asked me to he didn’t ask me to endorse”, Cruz told the Texas delegates Wednesday morning.

As Porter described the chaotic convention hall scene as “fun”, Jim Fisher bolted from the hotel ballroom.

The 71-year-old celebrity businessman’s acceptance of the Republican nomination caps his improbable takeover of the GOP, a party that plunges into the general election united in opposition to Clinton but still divided over Trump.

It was the latter holdout making all the waves at the Republican convention.

Rep. Adam Kinzinger, R-Ill., slammed Sen. “They’re basically one and the same”.

His Tuesday night speech drew loud boos from Trump supporters as they realized he was not going to throw the backing behind the man who was scheduled to accept the GOP nomination for president Thursday night. Marco Rubio, also addressed the convention’s third night, delivering lukewarm endorsements of Trump.

Politically, Mr Cruz has made a risky move, however.

Kasich was received warmly by OH delegates, who gave him a standing ovation at the beginning and end of his speech.

“You put your entire life out there”, he said, adding that Cruz “fell short in a big way”, and suggesting his failure to endorse Trump was sour grapes. But his criticism really dated back to the last Republican president, George W. Bush, and his foray into Iraq – a war endorsed by Trump’s running mate, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence.

“Her single greatest accomplishment may be committing such an egregious crime and getting away with it – especially when others have paid so dearly”, Trump said.

The former Texas Governor – and former Cruz backer – criticized Cruz as well.

He was reminded that earlier this year, at a Republican debate, Cruz enthusiastically said he would support the party’s official nominee – whomever that turned out to be.

Trump led the crowd in a chant of “USA”, and the crowd called out “Build that wall” during applause breaks. Those are the contests in which Rauner has vowed to help elect Republicans to erode Democratic supermajorities in the state House and Senate and start to curb the power of House Speaker Michael Madigan.

As the GOP primary came down to the two candidates this spring, Trump and his surrogates attacked Cruz’s family.

He defended his choice amid backlash, saying he’s “not in the habit of supporting people” who attack his wife and father. “And if you don’t want to keep your word then don’t be signing pledges”, Perry said.

“It looked like Ted Cruz was wearing an adult diaper because all I saw was a cry baby”, she said, fuming, after Cruz left the stage. Trump, meanwhile, had unexpected success winning voter groups that Cruz had assumed would be his base of support: evangelicals, southerners, and hardline conservatives. “So that’s why it’s important for me to work on them and get them to think about it. And maybe they don’t agree with everything Mark Kirk has done, but that’s OK”.
