Pakistan struggled to contain England’s batsmen in the first innings and under the pressure of conceding 589 runs they wilted to be bowled out for just 198.

It was the flawless riposte for Alastair Cook and his side after the disappointment of losing in the First Test.

Anderson followed it up when he trapped Azhar Ali in front, who departed for eight after opting not to review the decision.

Pakistan survived the morning session without any more setbacks although Younus Khan should have been dismissed when he was dropped in the slips by Cook off Ben Stokes.

Root was named man of the match after following his brilliant 254 in the first innings with 71 not out in the second.

England have lost the first Test match of the four-match Test series at Lord’s.

England thrashed Pakistan by 330 runs in the second Test at Old Trafford to level the four-match series at 1-1.

Here’s how the final day went… The off-spinner removed Hafeez and Younus in quick succession, as Pakistan crumbled to 102/4.

The result means the four-Test series is now level at 1-1 ahead of the third encounter which gets under way on August 3 at Edgbaston.

In the 23rd game.Chris Lynn’s 86 and Dwayne Smith’s 56 powered Guyana Amazon Warriors to 159 in their innings to which Johnson Charles and Shane Watson responded with an unbeaten 151-run stand to seal an easy nine-wicket victory for the Zouks.

The dismissal of his skipper prompted Wahab to take the long handle.

Moeen, completing the over, was then hit for six by Mohammad Hafeez. Moeen Ali took over and the Durham all-rounder, making his first worldwide appearance since undergoing surgery to fix a cartilage tear in his left knee two months ago, limped off with a grimace. This time though, Mohammad Hafeez couldn’t get his hands to the sharp chance. On this occasion, Hales gloved a nip-backer from the left-armer to the wicketkeeper Sarfraz.
