Bill Clinton: Hillary Clinton Is the Real Deal ‘Change-Maker’
Calling her “the best darn change-maker” he’s ever known, Clinton focused on how often his wife produced results for people even without an official title.

“If Hillary Clinton comes out and she demonstrates that she is going to be someone we can trust to stick to that, I think we can begin to have a conversation”, Clipston said. “She tried to empower them based on their abilities”.
Moments before she spoke, Clinton’s husband, former President Bill Clinton, built an extended case for his wife as an agent of change.
It was her formal rival Bernie Sanders, who in a show of unity, symbolically ended the roll call.
When that didn’t happen, Sanders delegates staged a walk out, leaving the arena and taking up residence in media tents, where they held a “silent protest” – conveniently right in front of everyone looking to file their evening stories.
Sanders took the floor in a bid to unify the party, drawing deafening cheers and a chorus of “ayes” when he called for Clinton to be “selected as the nominee of the Democratic Party for president of the United States”.
But Sanders indicated that he would not do so, because it might just upset his restive supporters.
Tuesday’s convention events drew sharp contrast with Trump, with several speakers discussing Clinton’s life-long fights to make a difference.
Former Secretary of State Madeline Albright said Trump jeopardizes American allies by threatening to pull out of North Atlantic Treaty Organisation, and has a “strange admiration for dictators”, such as Russian President Vladimir Putin.
It was at that moment that Planned Parenthood Federation of America president Cecile Richards declared, “An enormous ceiling is coming down”. “Tonight we are closer than ever to putting a woman in the White House”. But Lincoln said she heard from colleagues, “You know what, you were right, she’s not a diva, she wants to work”.
“Many of you have broken barriers”.
Ultimately, Bill’s speech was a loving tribute to his “best friend”, a woman who still leaves him in “awe”. “The fact is, he has already done damage, just by running for president”.
Still, in the convention hall itself, the party seemed much more united behind Clinton than it had been on the first day, when Sanders supporters frequently jeered any mention of her name. The final vote was 2,842 delegates for Clinton and 1,865 for Sanders.
It was an emotional night all around. And then the pivot to note that campaigns and conventions and speeches are “fun” but that the work Hillary Clinton did year in and year out most likely was not. “I hope that as the “first man” of the White House, Bill plays a minor role, and allows Hillary to make her own footprints in history”.
Those bearing testament Tuesday night included Sybrina Fulton, the mother of Trayvon Martin, who was shot dead in a Florida altercation in 2012. “That leader is Hillary Clinton”, said Klobuchar.
Tina Davis of Bristol Township, Pa., a Clinton delegate and state representative for Pennsylvania’s 141st district, sees Bill Clinton as one of Hillary’s best “surrogates”, bringing his star power to the election. Few who were watching could have been unaware of the troubled times in the Clintons’ marriage, the scandals they weathered, the attacks they endured.
And Clinton herself appeared on video to thank delegates and celebrate her big night.
“It is not just about electing candidates”, he said. Bernie Sanders’ (I-Vt.) presidential campaign. President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden will speak Wednesday, along with Virginia Sen. His visibility is really important.

But Sanders said the country needs leadership to improve the lives of working families, the poor and the sick.
