Clinton wins the nomination
Bill Clinton (D) speaks at the Democratic National Convention in New York City in August 1980.

About 200 supporters of the Vermont senator have traveled from across the United States to this spot about 30 miles southeast of the convention site in Philadelphia. “Somehow I knew this would not be just another tap on the shoulder, that I might be starting something I couldn’t stop”.
“We are certainly working to learn from him”, Audelo said. “We deserve an answer”.
An Israeli flag in flames on the streets of Philadelphia took the Democratic Party by surprise on Tuesday night, prompting a strong response from senior advisers to Donald Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, who called for his rival to denounce the vandalism.
Perhaps the most fascinating aspect of a matchup between Republican and Democratic nominees Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton is the disparity of person vs. persona each presents.
But it was her husband – former president Bill Clinton – who appeared on many newspaper covers the following morning, after speaking on her behalf Tuesday night. The Wall Street Journal, meanwhile, reported that “Hillary Clinton wins nomination” – but initially ran a photo of Bill before swapping it overnight for Hillary.
“She flew all night long from Cambodia to the Middle East to get a ceasefire that would avoid a full-out shooting war between Hamas and Israel, to protect the peace of the region”.
With policemen standing behind them silently in formation, two women who had black cloths over their mouths to symbolise their lack of voice at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) held a sign saying, “No justice, no peace”. Her campaign has painted him as erratic and running for president in a self-interested pursuit of greater wealth and fame. It may benefit the revolution if he stays in the Senate.
“We do care, we will work hard and we have a vision”, he said. “It was to get Bernie elected, that was goal No. 1, but priorities have shifted”. We’re making sure we’re heard.
Other speeches began following Clinton’s nomination.
“But we are not alone. We now realize we have a family, we have a group that feels the same way we do”.
“I won’t back Hillary, I’ll never back Hillary”. “I think there’s a lot of Democrats who simply identify with Bernie’s message and with his platform and joined his campaign”.
“The party came together as much as it can”, said Larry Sabato, director of the University of Virginia Center for Politics, told Global News on the convention floor at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center. I can not vote for someone (Clinton) who is totally for everything I’m against. Events would seek to contrast Clinton’s approach to national security with Trump’s “unsteady, unfit and unsafe approach”, said Clinton campaign chair John Podesta. She’s not getting paid to be a guest reporter, but it is her job to see things first hand and reach her own conclusions. “Then there is the large number of young and politically active community activist people who really don’t identify with the Democratic Party, but identify with Bernie”. “He’s so authentic and has integrity and honesty and I haven’t seen that in my lifetime, ever (in a political candidate)”, Gardner said.
While Sanders is urging all of his backers to now support Clinton, Naegeli says he would still like to be able to vote for Sanders.
Other delegates acknowledged that Sanders’ loss was disappointing but told the supporters they can create change without the Democratic Party and the mainstream media, contending the media contributed to a rigged election.
“I think it would be a good thing to have a first woman president”, he said to cheers from the small yet enthusiastic crowd.
“Here they are and they still love each other”, King said.

Addressing the gathering, former President Bill Clinton called his wife, who has also been a USA senator, a dynamic force for change.
