That completed the first three-homer game by a member of the Red Sox at Fenway Park since July 23, 2004, when Kevin Millar accomplished the feat against the New York Yankees.

Boston Red Sox’s Hanley Ramirez, center is congratulated by third base coach Brian Butterfield (55) on his third home run of the game during the sixth inning of a baseball game against the San Francisco Giants at Fenway Park, .
Ramirez also hit a two run, home run in the second inning. The Boston Red Sox offense continues to crush, and they’ve won 12 straight games when scoring more than three runs.
In the fourth, Ramirez was hit by a pitch, prompting him to glower at reliever Albert Suarez before the home plate umpire warned both benches. He had a chance to hit a major-league-record-tying fourth homer in the eighth inning, but he grounded out to the pitcher. The Twins have scored 10 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in 10 of their last 14 games. It’s been done 16 times, most recently by Josh Hamilton for Texas in 2012. He made a handful of impressive plays with the glove, including a diving catch to his right to help Pomeranz in the first inning and starting a momentum-turning double play in the sixth, when the Giants were threatening to steal the lead.
Barnes added a scoreless seventh, getting Brandon Belt on a check-swing strikeout with two on to end it, and a ideal eighth.
The All-Star southpaw lasted just three-plus innings, giving up five runs on eight hits with two strikeouts. He hadn’t allowed a homer in his previous three starts and his previous 22 innings entering Wednesday.
This week, the Giants made their first visit to Fenway Park since 2007 and just their second since the start of interleague play.
Hear what Barnes had to say about his outing in Boston’s 11-7 win in the video from “Red Sox Final” above.
On a night that featured big hits, stellar defense and an raucous crowd for a game between two of the game’s best teams, the Red Sox emerged the victors.
The crowd was boosted by many in Giants orange – matching the 1978-82 throwback jerseys worn by the team; Boston wore the tops from its 1975 World Series team.
San Francisco’s Ramiro Pena and Denard Span had RBI singles in the fifth to make it a one-run game.

Pomeranz unraveled in the fourth as Williamson struck his bomb to right-center and Brown bounced a first-pitch homer over the Green Monster in left. But Suarez couldn’t get bailed out of facing Ramirez, who launched his third home run of the night to stretch a one-run lead to three. Ramirez also made a trio of nifty defensive plays. Matt Barnes replaced Layne and got Gregor Blanco to ground sharply to first.
