Seahawks extend coach Pete Carroll through 2019, report says
This is the second extension for the 64-year-old Carroll since he arrived from USC to take the Seahawks’ job in 2010.

The team has reached agreement with Carroll on a new pact that will run through the 2019 season, the team announced Tuesday.
Carroll’s deal comes on the heels of an extension for Seattle general manager John Schneider. Under Carroll and Schneider, the Seahawks have won 60 games in the last six years and went to back-to-back Super Bowls, and won the franchise’s first NFL Championship.
Carroll’s somewhat unconventional coaching methods have been proven successful in his third stint as an National Football League head coach.
Whenever asked during the offseason about his contract situation, Carroll would shrug off the question saying “I’m good”.
Like Schneider, Carroll’s contract was to expire following the 2016 season.
Addressing his coaching future in an interview with the Times in 2014, Carroll said: “I really don’t even think about the timeline of it, ” he said.
In 2015, Carroll guided the Seahawks to a 10-6 record in the regular-season.
The Seahawks have been competitive in almost every game since the beginning of the 2012 season, never losing by more than 10 points since the middle of the 2011 season – regular and postseason combined. Not to mention unprecedented Seattle success.
