Trump introduces running mate Pence as his “first choice”

Indiana Gov. Mike Pence is all smiles as presumptive Republican party presidential nominee Donald Trump announces him as his vice presidential choice.

Although Indiana is part of the rust belt, which has lost manufacturing jobs overseas, Mr Trump said Mr Pence had brought down unemployment, created jobs, balanced the budget and made the state’s largest income tax cut.

Trump declares at an announcement event Saturday morning in New York, “What a difference between crooked Hillary Clinton and Mike Pence”.

Pence had served “with distinction” in Congress and as the chairman of the House Republican Conference – in effect party number three – Trump said, adding that he has “the skills of a highly talented executive”.

Christie told Michigan’s Republican delegation in Ohio Monday that the billionaire businessman asked Mary Pat “How much does the check need to be?” and said “just tell me, and I’ll send it”.

“But you’ve used that vote of Hillary’s that was the same as Governor Pence, as the example of her bad judgment”, Stahl pressed. She led Barack Obama because I don’t think he knew anything; I think he relied on her.

Donald Trump accuses Hillary Clinton of being responsible for the rise of ISIS in an interview with “60 Minutes”. “You heard what he was screaming out the window”, Trump said.

Trump is to be formally nominated as the party’s candidate for the November 8 election at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland.

Trump also offered new details about why he selected Pence as his running mate.

Donald Trump introduced his choice of vice presidential candidate by offering a narrative about his experience with Pence. Because Trump is going to continue to get all of the publicity and all of the limelight while pence will be trying to get a message out there. Pence acknowledged that the two had very different styles, but he said their visions are the same and that he wouldn’t hesitate to share his opinions with Trump.

“Without the evangelicals, I could not have won this nomination”, Trump said.

Ms Clinton’s team was already painting Gov. Pence’s conservative social viewpoints as out of step with the mainstream.

During the conference, Trump also hit upon several issues where he and Pence don’t exactly see eye-to-eye. Ted Cruz during the GOP primaries was actually, in fact, more of an endorsement for him.
