The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Department says the plane, a Cessna 310, crashed and was fully engulfed in flames. Their identities have not been released.

Michele Anaya says the plane landed in a marshy area off the north side of the runway. The fire then spread to nearby vegetation and caught a vehicle on fire. The flames fully engulfed the plane, spread to surrounding vegetation and a vehicle, officials said.

The Sheriff’s Department said investigators with the National Transportation Safety Board would arrive Thursday.

No other information was immediately available.
