Nebraska P Foltz, ex-Michigan State P Sadler killed in accident
Nebraska Coach Mike Riley said Foltz was respected on the team, and had a positive influence on everyone he interacted with. “Along with Coach Riley, our focus is on providing Sam’s family, teammates and friends with the critical support and love that they need at this time”. We will all miss him dearly. Sadler reportedly lost control on a wet road and hit a tree before the vehicle started on fire. Authorities have reportedly cited speed and weather as factors in the crash.

One person who lives near the area west of Milwaukee told the Journal Star there was a torrential rainstorm in the area Sunday night.
Puyol didn’t know Foltz as well as Sadler. Delahoussaye, 21 of New Iberia, Louisiana, was treated at a Waukesha hospital and released. The coach had looked forward to Foltz’s senior season in 2016 and to “watching him [go] on to play forever because he would have”.
Puyol has worked in camps before, and it is not unusual for a handful of kickers and punters to climb into a auto and head back to either their hometowns or college they are attending.
Both Sam and Mike were serving as staff here this weekend at our National Scholarship Camp in Southern Wisconsin.
I remember covering him in high school.
Delahoussaye was in the backseat of what Dwayne Delahoussaye said was a two-door Mercedes coupe, driven by Sadler.
“We mourn today with all of the people who were better men and women for knowing Sam and Mike”, Kohl said.
The Lansing State Journal reported that Sadler was entering Stanford Law School in the fall.
On Sunday, the team gathered at Memorial Stadium where they had a group prayer, putting their hands in the middle at the end and chanting in unison, “1, 2, 3, Sam!” “How typical was that?” Word got around that Foltz was in the gym, and he was coaxed into participating in a halftime half-court shooting contest. “He was truly one of his best friends”. It still hasn’t sunk in yet.
The tragic news came just a day before the Big Ten Media Days in Chicago. He was really proud of being a Nebraska football player. “We’re asking for people to please pray for the families of the two boys”. He was recently named to the watch list for the Wuerffel Trophy which is presented annually to the college football player who gives back to the community and contributes athletically and academically. “May your memory be eternal”.
Foltz was someone who made clear his strong faith. His Twitter bio reads “Dream Big, Work Hard, Stay Humble”, and that’s exactly what he did.
He certainly was doing that on the field.
Sadler was a two-time first-team All-Big Ten selection in 2012 and 2013 and was an Academic All-American four times, according to a statement from Michigan State. However, he was more than a punter for the Huskers.

“Right now, and you can quote me on the year, but I’m not sure if that’s exact, but I don’t think I can do a home-and-home, or go to somebody’s building until 2027”, Fitzgerald said. “You left a powerful impact on all of us”. He and 22-year-old Foltz, of Greeley, Nebraska, both died. He finished his career ranked second in school history in punts, punting yards and punting average.
