Reagan shooter Hinckley will soon leave hospital for good

According to The Associated Press, he has gone shopping and to the movies, although Secret Service occasionally watches him.

As a condition of his release, Hinckley must complete a daily log of his activities while on leave, detailing his work or volunteer hours, social interactions, treatments, errands and recreational activities.

He had shot the president in an apparent bid to impress the actress Jodie Foster, with whom he had an obsession and whom he had subjected to what would now be termed stalking. Since 2006, he has had over 80 unsupervised visits with his family in Williamsburg.
