Amazon Curates Kickstarter Collection
Funding a project on Kickstarter is like placing a bet – will the project ever work?

Customers shopping Amazon.com’s USA website will now see a dedicated “made on Kickstarter” section, showcasing products available through the online retailer that were also successfully funded on the popular crowdfunding platform. Consumers have a variety of categories to choose from in Kickstarter Collection, which includes Electronics, Wireless Accessories, Home & Kitchen, Books, Movies & TV, and Toys & Games.
The products can also be browsed by theme, like STEM products, “Always be Learning”, “Exquisite Objects”, “Inventing the Future”, and “Public Benefit”, for example.
Kickstarter CEO and Co-Founder Yancey Strickler said they are thrilled to collaborate with Amazon Launchpad in creating a new path for Kickstarter projects “to be discovered, experienced and loved”.
The products themselves aren’t necessarily new to Amazon – launchpad is the destination where you find such items – but this tweak makes it easier to find Kickstarter-funded items specifically. Today’s announcement brings the popular crowdfunding site into the fold. The online store had over 200 items at the time of its debut.
Some examples of startups now offering products on the Amazon Kickstarter Collection include Piper, Zivix, Prynt, and MudWatt. The e-commerce giant rolled out Launchpad exactly one year ago, in partnership with venture capital firms, startup accelerators, and other crowdfunding platforms.

Startups using the launchpad receive custom product pages, a comprehensive marketing package and have access to Amazon’s global fulfillment network. To date, Amazon.com customers have purchased “millions” of Kickstarter products, it says.
