Amazon Dash lets you order groceries with the power of your voice
AmazonFresh customers in and around London will be able to use the company’s Amazon Dash device to now scan and dictate their shopping order around the house. But it also has a barcode scanner, so if you’re low on toilet roll, for instance, then you can scan your empty packet and that item will be added to your basket too. However, completing the order must be done by logging onto Amazon’s website.

As noted in Engadget’s report, should two Amazon Fresh orders be completed before August 28, the Dash can be delivered for free.
Costing £34.99, the Dash device, which has been available in the USA for a number of years already, lets users scan a product barcode or say the name of a product to add items automatically into their Amazon.co.uk basket.
“We’re all used to trying to remember the contents of the fridge and kitchen cupboard and scribbling down reminders on pieces of paper”, said Ajay Kavan, VP of AmazonFresh.
In the US, Amazon has released a number of Dash “buttons” that can be placed onto things like washing machines and used to order specific items when they’re depleted.
Amazon has also launched another household device in the USA called the Amazon Echo.
You can find out more details about AmazonFresh and also Dash over at Amazon at the link below.
AmazonFresh is available in 128 London postcodes and Prime members in these covered areas can order from a full range of grocery items with over 130,000 products at what Amazon claims are competitive prices.

Business Insider asked Amazon how Evi’s software has been incorporated into Dash but did not immediately hear back.
