Team USA destroys China again

Led by DeMarcus Cousins’ team-high 21 points and 11 rebounds, the 2016 U.S. Olympic Men’s Basketball Team recorded a 107-57 victory over China Tuesday evening at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California, improving its record to 3-0 on its pre-Olympic Games USA Basketball Showcase tour.

Or maybe, given his new professional affiliation, we should say Durant “splashed” it from well beyond the arc.

According to Mercury News, Curry told ESPN’s The Undefeated, “I talked to him [Kevin] about where he is going to live”.

“I knew that I was going to pull the first shot since, like, yesterday. Luckily it went in”.

Indeed the initial moments of what local fans hope will be a long and fruitful relationship began about as auspiciously as possible.

In a series of video interviews released by DraftKings.com, Green said that he and Durant “weren’t really talking” during the playoffs.

Regardless of what was reported, Green said he doesn’t care, and he added that false reports don’t anger him, they make him happy.

Durant drained a three-point jump shot seven seconds into the contest and followed that with a dunk as he scored the first 10 points for the Americans.

Durant wasted no time rewarding the fans for a 15-second ovation during pregame introductions.

Maybe even Durant felt it, at least as far as Green could see and hear. He was 4-of-8 from the field. Also on Tuesday, reports surfaced that Westbrook was as shocked as anyone by Durant’s departure.

A team can have the greatest individual players in the world, but it won’t matter if they can’t play well together.

“When we break the huddles, we scream “united” and that’s what we want our country to feel when they watch us play”. His former Thunder teammate Steven Adams once celebrated Durant’s own 3-pointer too early.

They held their breath.

Unlike Curry or Thompson, Green can have a huge impact on the game without filling up the scoring column of the stat sheet.

Durant is trying to remove himself from the situation in Oklahoma City. It’s more likely they’ll pay a luxury tax to keep the Warriors from falling apart that it is they’d let players leave.

“It was fantastic”, Green said.

“It was awesome. The atmosphere was great, energy was great”. The energy was great. I thought my presence there just showed him. With the game being in Los Angeles, along with the crowd cheering more for DeAndre Jordan than any other player, it is assumed there was a majority of Los Angeles Clippers fans present for the game.
