Obama boosts Clinton, says ‘America is already great’
US President Barack Obama has set out why Hillary Clinton should be his successor, at the Democratic convention in Philadelphia.

President Barack Obama plans to vouch for Hillary Clinton’s foreign-policy credentials in a speech Wednesday meant to rebut Republican criticism of her record as secretary of state. “There has never been a man or woman, not me, not Bill (Clinton), more qualified than Hillary to serve as US President”, Obama said at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.
“Even in the middle of crisis, she listens to people, and keeps her cool, and treats everybody with respect”, he said in speech experts.
Trump, who has never held public office, offered his critics fresh lines of attack on Wednesday, urging Russian Federation to find and release tens of thousands of emails that Clinton did not hand over to USA officials as part of a probe into her use of a private email system while she was secretary of state.
“You can read about it”. But Hillary’s been in the room.
We love you back, @POTUS.
The address will bookend Obama’s career-launching address to the Democratic convention in 2004, his contentious 2008 primary battle with Clinton and his eight years in office.
The day before Clinton formally accepts her party’s nomination to become the first woman to lead a major US party into a presidential election, Trump gave the Democrats new ammunition to attack him with remarks about Russia’s rumoured role in the leak of damaging Democratic Party e-mails and about the Russian annexation of the Crimean Peninsula. But Saunders says Trump taps into a “legitimate” frustration acute among small-town and rural white men whose fathers and grandfathers once helped elect Democrats.
“This guy doesn’t have a clue about the middle class – not a clue”, Biden said, sparking roars.
“How can there be pleasure in “you’re fired”?” “Actually, he has no clue – period”.
Known for his foreign policy experience, Biden said Trump was unfit to be elected to the White House on November 8. “And I promise you, our strength, our greatness, does not depend on Donald Trump”, he said. “I said that Putin has better leadership qualities than Obama, but who doesn’t know that?” “She cares. She is committed”.
“But after it was all over, I asked Hillary to join my team”. Exactly the leadership we need.
“This is a more fundamental choice – about who we are as a people, and whether we stay true to this great American experiment in self-government”, he said.
“For four years, I had a front-row seat to her intelligence, her judgment, and her discipline”, he said. But as I’ve traveled this country, through all fifty states; as I’ve rejoiced with you and mourned with you, what I’ve also seen, more than anything, is what is right with America. Tim Kaine, introduced himself to the nation as a formidable foil to Republican nominee Donald Trump.
“If you want someone with a lifelong track record of fighting for higher wages, better benefits, a fairer tax code, a bigger voice for workers, and stronger regulations on Wall Street, then you should vote for Hillary Clinton”, Obama said. Yet in a scattershot news conference Wednesday, Trump tried to turn the table on Clinton, saying he believed it unsafe for her to receive national security briefings in light of her well-known email missteps while in office. Clinton, the establishment candidate, was widely expected to win the Democratic nomination.
Former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, an independent, considered his own run for president before issuing a statement in March saying he would not risk the chance that he would divide the electorate in a way that would lead to Trump getting elected. The America I know is decent and generous. The mere mention of Trump’s name by Obama elicited “boo’s” from DNC-goers, to which Obama offered the A+ reply of, “Don’t boo”.
They have contrasted Clinton’s long experience and foreign policy skills with Trump’s maverick position on global relations, which Clinton campaign chair John Podesta has described as.
The Democratic Party pulled out its heavy hitters on the third day of the convention.
“Donald”, Hutson said, “you’re not fit to polish John McCain’s boots”.
“Once again he’s stolen the show”.
After walking out on the Philadelphia stage to the theme from the movie Rocky, Biden urged the crowd not to boo or cheer while he delivered an indictment of Donald Trump.

But he got a boost in opinion polls from his convention.
