Peyton Manning’s cooperation with the investigation was expected in the event that he decides to pursue a post-football career in broadcasting or in an NFL front office.

Manning, who retired about a month after his Denver Broncos beat the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50, vehemently denied the allegations.
Al-Jazeera America reported the allegations, based on a recording of a former intern at an anti-aging clinic.
The course for the still active players being investigated will be more tricky, given how the league must now negotiate an investigation through the CBA and the players union. Sly, who was recorded without his knowledge by an undercover reporter, later recanted all his comments. The league thought otherwise andis now demanding that each player meet with NFL security and legal teams. And frankly I don’t have anything else to really report on it.
I’ll just say this. They provided interviews and access to medical records, the league said.
“The NFL can not interview a player without NFLPA counsel present, and no such interview has been scheduled for Mr. Harrison (or any of the other players)”, Carl Francis, the NFLPA’s director of communications, wrote in an e-mail. Following lawsuits filed by two Major League Baseball players named in the documentary, the troubled cable network folded up shop in April. In December, Manning briefly hired former White House press secretary Ari Fleischer to respond to the allegations.
Veteran quarterback Peyton Manning did not use performance enhancing drugs, according to the NFL.

The NFL placed human growth hormone on its list of banned substances as part of its 2011 collective bargaining agreement with the NFL Players Association. Manning said in an ESPN interview the day after the film’s December 27 release that he was “disgusted” and “sickened” by the HGH claims in the documentary, but did admit in that interview that he had received treatment at the Guyer Institute “under Colts authorization”. The quarterback missed seven starts with a foot injury but started the Broncos’ three playoff games, including the Super Bowl win.
