Hillary Clinton’s challenge with young voters
Clinton passed the 2,383-vote threshold during Tuesday afternoon’s roll call, making her the official Democratic nominee. Tammy Baldwin announced 49 votes for Sanders and 47 votes for Clinton.

Earlier on Tuesday, Hillary Clinton secured the Democratic Party’s 2016 nomination for the Nov 8 election, becoming the first woman to head the ticket of a major party in U.S. history. But the relatively close race meant some unhappy delegates. “There’s a big difference between these candidates”.
Clinton waged another hard-fought primary battle this year, beating off an unexpectedly strong challenge from the left by Bernie Sanders, a U.S. senator from Vermont. It will be his 10th time addressing Democratic national conventions.
She was wearing a Hillary Clinton button.
“There has never been a man or woman, not me, not Bill – nobody more qualified than Hillary Clinton to serve as president of the United States”, Obama said to cheers at the Philadelphia convention last night. It will be Clinton’s fourth time on Fox since announcing her candidacy, and her first time on Chris Wallace’s show in almost five years. USA Today even ran the image simply with a photo of a video screen of Clinton, putting her presence on the page over the quality of the image. “That’s why anyone who threatens our values, whether fascists or communists or jihadists or homegrown demagogues, will always fail in the end”, Obama said.
Colburn says Silverman expressed the dismay Clinton supporters felt about the disruption. “It’s not a comment on people’s beliefs, which are awesome and to be respected”. He told the audience how she moved to “a odd place more rural, more culturally conservative, than any place she’d ever been”. They recognize that Republicans, as well as many Democrats, have questions about Clinton’s character but hope to ease those concerns. “Our strategy is to be nice and respectful of their views”, Colburn said.
“Anybody who goes into campaigns not running scared can end up losing”.
“Republicans hate to spend money”, she said. A spokesman says the use of the rest of the rooms, though, are out of their hands, but will ask the hotel to reserve a space for the Sanders delegate’s to meet beginning on Tuesday. “They weren’t Midwest nice”, said Hendricks.
“It is alarming that Leon Panetta would, through his silence, excuse Hillary Clinton’s enablement of foreign espionage with her illegal email scheme and her corrupt decision to then destroy those emails and dissemble her “private” server to hide her crimes from the public and authorities”, Trump senior policy adviser Stephen Miller said.
“If you have somebody who is out there pounding you and pounding you and pounding you, eventually it’s going to take a toll”, Richard Trumka, head of the AFL-CIO labor federation, said.
– Vice President Joe Biden will also make an appearance. But she needs the Obama coalition even though she’s no Obama. Sanders supporters, by and large, did not turn out in unexpected droves to Philly because they thought he would win. He’s pleased with the progressive reforms, like a $15 minimum wage added to the party’s platform, and credits Sanders with nudging Clinton to the left on many issues. “But one of you is next”.
“[Trump’s] a fraud”, Soglin said. But if anyone is vindicating her position, its Sanders, dumping the Democratic party as soon as it was no longer useful. “It’s completely understandable that people would be angry”. However, recent polls show him leading Clinton slightly and party strategists know there is everything to play for. For those who are suspicious of her, it was one more potent reminder that she is no Obama.
Dozens of Sanders delegates walked out of the convention hall in protest Tuesday, including a few from Wisconsin. “I love the man”, he said. “The majority of Wisconsin Bernie delegates stayed”.
Now, the idea of two-for-one is back, and Bill Clinton as first spouse could be one half of a powerful team.
Clinton’s convention has been awash in history, with energized delegates celebrating her formal nomination as the first woman to ever lead a major political party in the general election.

“The revolution Bernie started isn’t over”, said Stanley. “This is only the beginning”.
