Democratic National Committee apologizes to Sanders over emails

Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Shultz addressed a very emotional Florida delegation Monday morning.

The scandal has already led to Ms Wasserman Schultz announcing on Sunday that she would stand down as chairwoman of the DNC at the end of the convention, but this was not enough for Sanders supporters.

Barack Obama, the nation’s first black president, spoke at the Democratic National Convention Wednesday evening, the day after Hillary Clinton made history of her own, becoming America’s first woman major-party nominee.

Wasserman Schultz visited the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, to try and get out a blue message in a sea of red.

Supporters quickly rushed up as well, holding shirts touting her reelection bid and yelling, “Debbie, Debbie”.

She was a detriment to the party”, Kingson said.

“I am more optimistic about the future of America than ever before”, Mr Obama said at the Wells Fargo Center. “I appreciate that interest”.

Darrell West, vice president and director of governance studies, of the Brookings Institution told Xinhua that Clinton needs a good convention because national polls now show her running behind Trump. “We are the state that will deliver the White House”.

“The decision for her is that the office of the president is more important”, Joanne Goodwin, a Clinton delegate who wore a Wasserman Schultz for Congress shirt, said of the chairman’s decision to step down. Now, it looks like Democrats will have the same struggle through the course of the week.

Others said Sanders was simply pushing them to consider the long-term implications.

The most injurious of the leaked correspondence showed what Sanders and his supporters have been saying all along: The DNC was always in the tank for Team Hillary, despite its apparently unenforced impartial requirements. He stressed that the accomplishments and progress would be lost if Clinton doesn’t win. “I guess I still do wonder”, said Orange County delegate Maria Carrillo.

For Clinton delegates, however, it’s time to move on.

“I have a focus right now on Bernie”, he said.

Trump also noted that “a lot of those people are gonna vote for us”.

He praised Clinton’s “unbelievable work ethic” and “tenacity” – something he experienced as her Democratic primary rival in 2008, and ultimately came to admire, he said.

“The DNC is working to unite to ensure that all members have a voice and are engaged in the process”, Kramer said.
