African-American men made up 40 per cent of the 60 unarmed police shooting deaths this year, despite only accounting for 6 per cent of the population, according to a Washington Post analysis.

It begins with a relatively minor incident: A traffic stop.
Not included in the analysis were 21 cases where those killed had a toy weapon or 16 where it was unknown whether the person was armed or not.
Moments after the shots were fired, a young woman screamed, “The killed my brother”.
Shephard, 41, was shot dead by Houston Police after leading officers on a high-speed vehicle chase and crashing into several vehicles. Police say he then continued firing shots into a crowd while running down West Florissant.
St. Louis County Police say a man was standing outside a residence in the 9600 block of Glen Owen in Ferguson when a green Pontiac G6 drove by and a passenger in the rear seat fired multiple times at the victim.
The Justice Department also said it did not have evidence to suggest Wilson, who said Brown charged at him, was not acting for his own safety.
Sunday’s day of remembrance had been peaceful until a handful of protesters grew rowdy later in the evening. The officers weren’t wearing body cams. Officers patrolled the street and nearby shopping centers, which were the site of protests, riots and looting after the death of 18-year-old Michael Brown a year ago.
In New York, dozens of people gathered at Union Square to hold a vigil for Brown in solidarity with Ferguson and to call for ongoing demonstrations against police killings of minorities.

He said there was “a remarkable amount of gunfire”, with as many as 50 bullets let loose in the initial shooting between the two groups.
