His counsel said Mr Khan is a responsible man and he is ready to abide by whatever conditions the court would impose and that no goal would be served by keeping him in jail.
“The woman has already got adequate police protection so there is no possibility of tampering with prosecution evidence or influencing evidences…” He has deep roots in the society. “He is not required for custodial interrogation”, while noting that Khan had earlier been remanded to two days police custody. But the minister did not meet her and while she was returning, a youth came out of the house, abused her and threatened that she would be killed if she did not stop politicising the matter.
Metropolitan magistrate Manisha Tripathi, who sent the Okhla MLA to judicial custody till 9 August, rejected his bail plea on the ground that he may influence witnesses and hamper investigation.
Seeking bail, counsel for the accused argued that the case was an attempt to falsely implicate the MLA.
The court, however, granted the relief to the accused, saying only for the goal that the other accused persons who are alleged to be involved in the case are to be identified and arrested, he can not be kept in custody for indefinite period.
An FIR was subsequently registered in this regard under section 506 (criminal intidation) and 509 (word, gesture or act meant to insult the modesty of a woman) of IPC.
A 35-year-old woman had filed a complaint against Amanatullah on July 20 alleging he threatened her with dire consequences.

Khan had, however, said he did not even know if the woman came to his residence.
