44 killed in Syria by truck loaded with explosives
At least 31 people were killed and 100 others injured in a bomb blast at Qamishli in Syria; the blast being a handiwork of ISIS, reported the Syrian media.

In a statement published by the Islamic State-linked Aamaq news agency, the group said it carried out the attack in Qamishli.
The attack, which hit near a Kurdish security forces headquarters, was the deadliest of its kind in the city for years, the British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.
In April a suicide blast killed six members of the Kurdish internal security force, known as the Asayish.
A total of 170 people were also wounded when a booby-trapped truck, driven by a suicide bomber with the so-called Islamic State (IS) terror group, went off in Qamishli, according to Sama TV.
State media gave a toll of 44 dead and 140 injured in the bombing, which hit a western district of the city where several local Kurdish ministries are located.
The death toll is expected to rise significantly after more people are uncovered from the rubble, an eyewitness told the BBC.
“We promise (our people) that we will take revenge from Daesh and its allies for martyrs, and wounded and for Qamishli”, Ibrahim said in a recorded video message posted on the security forces’ Facebook Page, using the Arabic acronym for IS.
They ran past a hysterical woman who was crying and screaming, her clothes torn.
The scene is filled with burned cars, damaged buildings.
Still, Syrian government forces are also present in the area, controlling the local airport.
A witness said the blast was so powerful it shattered windows in stores in Nusaybin, the Turkish town directly across the border, Reuters reported.
Meanwhile the United States is exploiting an enormous amount of digital information about the IS obtained by Syrian rebels who are fighting for control of the city of Manbij, a spokesman for the American-led military coalition said.
Kurdish officials said Islamic State militants targeted Qamishli in retaliation for the ongoing offensive against Manbij, an Islamic State stronghold east of Qamishli.
