Andre Carson waiting to see what Gov. Pence brings to Trump ticket

Now officially part of Donald Trump’s presidential ticket, Mike Pence arrived back home in the style of his new boss.

In a 20-minute interview with 60 Minutes’ Lesley Stahl that aired Sunday evening on CBS, Trump said it didn’t matter to him that the two have differed on major policy issues such as trade and the Iraq war.

Hundreds of people greeted Pence Saturday when he returned from the VP announcement in NY.

“Let’s come together as party, as people and as a movement to make America great again”, Pence said.

Pence is then seen leaning toward Trump, who waves his hand and tells him, “You could say yes”. In what several critics are bashing as yet another “pompous display of narcissism”, Trump spoke at length about rival Hillary Clinton, terrorism, his own primary wins and of defeating a “Stop Trump” movement.

The event set to begin at 11 a.m. follows Trump, the presumed Republican presidential candidate, publicly announcing Pence’s selection in a tweet Friday and caps off a whirlwind week for the governor.

“The last few days have been pretty overwhelming”, Pence said.

The real estate mogul said Pence was “entitled to make a mistake every once in a while”. Trump delayed the event out of respect for the deadly truck attack in Nice, France, but he also had lingering doubts about choosing Pence.

Ahead of the Republican National Convention this week, when the two men ― barring any last-minute commotion ― will formally accept their party’s nominations for president and vice president, Trump and Pence attempted to put on a united front.

Ali Pardo, RNC’s Colorado Spokesowoman, shut down the notion that Trump and Pence have too many differences. Pence said he answered the call because Hillary can’t be POTUS. TRUMP: I love what he just said. While presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton’s logo has been praised by many designers, it prompted intra-party grousing a year ago.

Protesters say they’re also concerned with the pair’s stance on abortion and LGBT rights, not to mention, Mr Trump’s controversial rhetoric.

Clinton’s team was already painting Pence’s conservative social viewpoints as out of step with the mainstream.
