Hillary Clinton running mate Tim Kaine visits Florida delegates

“Governor Pence and I used to have lunch when he was a colleague in Congress”, Rep. Andre Carson (D-Ind.) said in an interview with CBS4 Wednesday.

Grabbing the spotlight at a news conference in Miami, Trump urged Russian Federation to find and release tens of thousands of emails that Clinton did not hand over to USA officials as part of a probe into her use of a private email system while she was secretary of state.

It’s clear that testimonials from Kaine, a folksy politician who projects more of an everyman image than his running mate, will be a key piece of that strategy. Tim Kaine, for doing a bad job as governor of New Jersey.

“I think it’s a very good choice because he’s very experienced in local, state and national government as well as in foreign affairs”.

Kaine’s platform has become more accepting of abortion since his time as governor of Virginia from 2006 to 2010, when he approved funding for crisis pregnancy centers and upheld abortion restrictions such as a 24-hour waiting period and parental notification. But he remains largely unknown on the national political stage. For Clinton, Kaine’s behavior probably falls into the “no problem” category. Trump confused Tim with former New Jersey governor Thomas Keane in a major gaffe, criticizing him for a major tax hike in the state.

Former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley, who unsuccessfully sought the Democratic nomination, said Kaine had brought his beliefs in Catholic social justice to his public service, something he has practiced throughout his career. Having a white male on the ticket may help swing a few independents and Republicans disillusioned with Donald Trump.

He placed Clinton in a long line of liberal icons, including her husband and predecessor.

The 2016 presidential election may be less about the candidates than “America looking in the mirror and deciding what we see there”, Kaine said. “Bill built a bridge into the 20th Century, and Barack gave us hope”, he said.

Mr Kaine denounced Donald Trump during his speech, calling him a “slick-talking, empty promising, self-promoting one man wrecking crew”. Because Trump has no idea who Tim even is.

The predictable outcry from the progressive wing of the Democratic Party, whom strongly preferred Elizabeth Warren, has been relatively muted so far. Kaine initially supported the deal but now opposes it.

One of the biggest issues liberals have taken with Kaine is his stance on trade – the senator supported the Trans-Pacific Partnership, the trade deal that both Trump and Vermont Sen.

Kaine attempted to defray some of that worry during his address.

Sanders supporters understand that “the stakes are high and we got to pull it together to win”, Kaine added.

What exactly does Kaine bring to the Democratic ticket?
