However, an upcoming appearance at the Olympics will now be cancelled as Federer prepares to sit out until next year as a result of ongoing issues with his knee.

As Federer says in his post, his injured knee will need extensive rehab, and he will have miss more time to make sure the knee is fully healed. He also said that i’ve gone through lots of injuries but never miss any important game or tournament and this time he is very unlucky that this big opportunity will be missed by his hand.
Federer went on to write he is “as motivated as ever” to come back “strong” and healthy next year.

The seven-time Wimbeldon champion turns 35 next month.
