Trump on Russia Hack: Of Course I Was Being Sarcastic

Another speaker, retired U.S. Rear Adm. John Hutson, said of Trump: “This morning, he personally invited Russian Federation to hack us”.

President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg delivered a tough criticism of Republican Donald Trump at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia on Wednesday night. “It’s just a total deflection, this whole thing with Russia”, Trump said.

“You take a look at what was said on those emails, it’s disgraceful”.

Trump was referring to the recent hack of the Democratic National Committee, which led to the publication of thousands of emails on WikiLeaks. Comey added that his investigators managed to find “several thousand” emails Clinton did not turn over to the State Department because she deemed them private. “I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press”, Trump said.

The Clinton campaign responded: “This has to be the first time that a major presidential candidate has actively encouraged a foreign power to conduct espionage against his political opponent. That’s not hyperbole, those are just the facts”.

Later, he dismissed concerns raised by Ms Clinton’s campaign manager Robby Mook that his comments raised national security concerns.

USA computer experts have said in recent days they believe that Russian state actors are behind the hacking into computers at the Democratic National Committee headquarters in Washington, following WikiLeaks’ release of almost 20,000 emails that showed party officials favored Clinton’s presidential nomination and tried to undermine the candidacy of her rival, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders. Obama also gave an interview refusing to rule out that Russian Federation was trying to sway the election.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov denied on Wednesday any Russian involvement in the U.S. electoral process.

Following former President Bill Clinton’s address a day earlier, they touted Hillary’s remarkable journey from young attorney and Arkansas governor’s wife to half of the two-for-one presidency that oversaw a booming economy, without mentioning the scandals; from NY lawmaker to defeated presidential hopeful; from America’s top diplomat to the first woman ever put forward by a major party for president.

He told Fox News Channel in an interview that “I guess I take it a little bit personally, but you can’t let it get you down”.

“You know what gives me more pause?” he said, telling a female reporter to “be quiet”.

“Trump says he wants to run the nation like he’s run his business”, he said.

Trump spearheaded the so-called birther movement which undermined America’s first black president by claiming that he was not born in the United Sates, and so disqualified from the job.

“Through his financial documents, we are trying to break into the image that he’s portraying to the American people”, said Mana, a real estate developer in Miami.

“As for any indirect or direct accusations of the Kremlin and Russian Federation of playing some role in these attacks, this is totally absurd and is a vivid example of using and inflaming Russophobia in the U.S. for the election purposes”.

Trump slammed the twice-elected Obama as a “disaster”. And if he was joking, should a serious contender for the presidency be joking (badly) about allowing Russian cyber-attacks to occur in the name of helping him win?

“Hey, I didn’t like the Affordable Care Act either”.

“I think it’s time for Hillary Clinton to do a news conference because it’s nearly a year now, and it will be interesting to see how she does”.
