DNC 2016: Many Sanders’ supporters still not on board Clinton train
How can I not be? “‘Life, ‘ he said, ‘would have been easier if we could pop over to the East Wing to run idea past Bill'”.

Clinton had just been anointed the inheritor of Obama’s legacy with his vigorous endorsement speech, the candidate who could realize the “promise of this great nation”. Trump, a wealthy businessman, accepted the Republican nomination in Cleveland, Ohio, last week. There were no serious solutions to pressing problems – just the fanning of resentment, and blame, and anger, and hate.
“I have never seen anything more craven than Mitch McConnell and what he has done to our democracy”.
“Hillary’s got her share of critics”, Obama said. “She knows what’s at stake in the decisions our government makes, what’s at stake for the working family, the senior citizen, the small business owner, for the soldier, for the veteran”.
The divide between Texans at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia seemed obvious as Bernie Sanders took the stage in an attempt to unify delegates behind Hillary Clinton.
Along with Obama, other Democratic speakers lashed out at Trump, with Vice President Joe Biden questioning the billionaire’s commitment to the middle class.
Following his emotional address, Obama was joined on the stage by Secretary Clinton, who made surprise-but brief-appearance ahead of her official acceptance of the nominee on Thursday night in order to hug the president.
“By so many measures, our country is stronger and more prosperous than it was when we started”, Obama said.
The convention’s third night was also a time for Democrats to celebrate Obama’s eight years in office.
Obama devoted a large portion of his speech to bash Trump. “Not really a facts guy, either”, he said. Then there was an embrace with the woman he said is the most qualified person to ever run for the office – including himself and Bill Clinton.
Clinton and Trump, a political novice, are locked in a tight race.
Clinton addressed the convention via satellite from NY and insisted that her victory truly belonged to her supporters. Everybody knows how smart and tough and resilient she is. That’s the Hillary I know. Hearing their stories of people suffering and knowing they were banking on Senator Sanders, I was overcome.
Their political fates now entwined, President Barack Obama is imploring voters to elect Hillary Clinton to the White House, joining a chorus of Democrats vouching Wednesday night for her readiness to be commander in chief at time of volatility around the world.
After the nomination was conferred, some of Sanders’ supporters left the convention floor and voiced their grievances about Clinton and the Democratic National Committee to the press.
“Preach!” members of the crowd shouted. “And if there are any little girls out there who stayed up late to watch, let me just say: I may become the first woman president, but one of you is next”.

TEGNA, our parent company, paid for Coleman’s travel and hotel and submitted her information to be credentialed to attend the Democratic National Convention so she could be a guest reporter. It’s about “yes we can”.
