Donald Trump accepts GOP nomination, vows to fix America
Team Trump has proved that they now have such a tight grip on the Republican Party that they can force the entire institution to adopt their view of one of America’s chief foreign policy concerns: how to handle Russia’s paranoid, populist autocrat and his efforts to assert himself overseas. Yet he also accused her of “terrible, awful crimes” and said her greatest achievement may have been staying out of prison. Arguing that her tenure as secretary of state under Obama fomented instability overseas, including the expansion of Islamic State, he said, “This is the legacy of Hillary Clinton: death, destruction, terrorism and weakness”. “But Hillary Clinton’s legacy does not have to be America’s legacy”.

He repeated numerous controversial themes of his bruising primary campaign – banning foreigners from countries linked to terrorism, building a wall on the Mexican border and renegotiating unfavorable trade deals with China.
“To every parent who dreams for their child, and every child who dreams for their future, I say these words to you tonight: I’m with you, I will fight for you and I will win for you”. “For more than a year”, she said of his run for the presidency, “Donald Trump has been the people’s champion”. He also vowed to protect gays and lesbians from violence and oppression, a pledge that was greeted with applause from the crowd.
Donald Trump accepted the Republican nomination for president Thursday, promising anxious Americans that they will be safer and richer if he is elected in November.
Laying out his case against Clinton, he denounced nation-building policies that were actually put in place to some extent by George W. Bush, without mentioning by name the Republican president who launched wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Trump’s speech of more than an hour was created to set the tone for the general election campaign against Clinton, an answer to Republicans who say the best way he can unify the divided party is to detail why the Democrat should not be elected on November 8.
Trump takes the stage in Cleveland facing a daunting array of challenges, many of his own making. Though he vanquished 16 primary rivals, he’s viewed with unprecedented negativity by the broader electorate, and is struggling in particular with younger voters and minorities, groups GOP leaders know they need for the party to grow.
That was perhaps in reaction to the speech given on Monday night by Trump’s wife Melania, who was accused of plagiarism when she repeated lines from a 2008 speech by Michelle Obama, Obama’s wife. Ted Cruz’s dramatic refusal to endorse him from the convention stage. The remarks, in an interview published online Wednesday by The New York Times, deviate from decades of American doctrine and seem to reject the 67-year-old alliance’s bedrock principle of collective defense.
“We’re raising a tremendous amount of money from the small donors”, said Trump.
Trump, in a speech at the Republican National Convention scheduled for 10:15 p.m. EDT (0215 GMT on Friday), will tell Americans that he will speedily address the violence that has dominated headlines, such as the shooting deaths of five Dallas police officers earlier this month.
He had promised to describe “major, major” tax cuts. “People who work hard but no longer have a voice”.
But what matters now is beating Hillary Clinton, said Trump, and he predicted his campaign will attract many of her challenger Bernie Sanders’ former backers. “Our convention occurs at a moment of crisis for our nation”, an ominous-sounding Mr. Trump said, standing against a backdrop of American flags.
Indeed, Clinton was aggressively attacked throughout the four-day Republican convention, with delegates repeatedly chanting, “Lock her up”.
On the upside next week is the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.

In a Friday morning appearance at the Westin Hotel with his family, friends and running mate, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, Trump applauded the unity displayed at the convention. Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine has emerged as her top choice.
