Reid: Pence says much in common with Trump
The Democratic National Convention was filled to capacity with delegates, politicians and guests hearing her vice presidential candidate give his acceptance address.

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s rally Saturday in Pittsburgh has been moved to the David L. Lawrence Convention Center.
After accepting the Democratic vice presidential nomination, Kaine presented his life story and went straight at Hillary Clinton’s biggest challenge: that a significant number of Americans do not find her trustworthy.
“You know who I don’t trust?” “On a personal level, as he’s serving our nation overseas, I trust Hillary Clinton with our son’s life”.
He is expected to cement Clinton’s lead among Hispanic voters and offer her a political boost among the state’s independent voters and moderate Republicans displeased with their party’s nominee Donald Trump. Yet in the possibility of Veep Tim Kaine, we have a goofier, earnest southern papa who not only carries one harmonica with him – but four.
“And I’ve said ever since – if I’m good at anything, it’s because I started at the local level, listening to people, learning about their lives and trying to get results”, Kaine said.
Mark Bergman grew up in Virginia, cut his teeth in Virginia politics and is thrilled to see the man he first knew as the mayor of Richmond chosen as Hillary Clinton’s running mate. “She’s ready because of her experience”, said Kaine.
He is fluent in Spanish.
“Last week in Cleveland, we heard a lot about trust”, Kaine said. Give me a break.
“Donald Trump’s whole career says you better not (believe him)”, Kaine said. “I’ve been a lieutenant governor to a great governor, Mark Warner and DNC chair supporting a great president, President Barack Obama, so I know how to be a supporter and I know how to be an advocate for somebody”.
Kaine then turned towards the crowd.”Can I be honest with you about something?”
“Not Donald Trump. He never tells you how he is going to do any of the things he says he will do. And friends, Hillary Clinton, she’s ‘lista.’ Hillary Clinton is lista”. “I actually think where we are now, we’re farther ahead than we were eight years ago”.

As a member of the Armed Services and Foreign Relations committees, Kaine said that Republican colleagues privately recounted “how fantastic a senator Hillary Clinton was”. “And in a world where we have too much politics of personal destruction, I think that will be a pretty refreshing sign for an very bad lot of folks”.
