Dee Gordon apologizes to Marlins fans via Twitter before returning from suspension
Gordon issued an apology on Twitter addressed primarily to his young fans as he returned from an 80-game suspension for a positive drug test.

“I wouldn’t wish this on anyone, I promise you that”, Gordon said.
Gordon hit.333 and won the National League batting and stolen bases titles, and the Gold Glove previous year.
In his video, the 5-foot-11, 170-pound Gordon said he learned from his mistake.
On the verge of his return to the lineup Thursday night against the St. Louis Cardinals, after spending some time in the minors as he worked his way back into shape, Gordon offered an apology to fans.
Gordon, 28, tested positive for the performance-enhancing substances exogenous testosterone and clostebol during spring training, and his suspension was announced by Major League Baseball on April 29.
“He will be welcomed back into the clubhouse”, Marlins president David Samson said Wednesday, per Craig Davis of the Miami Sun-Sentinel. He said that he didn’t know that he taken the banned substances. I didn’t. Being the smallest guy around, I didn’t think I would fail a drug test. I’m not here to argue for any other player; I’m here to speak on the behalf of Gordon. “I didn’t pay attention at all and I didn’t meet the standards”.
Prior to being suspended, Gordon was hitting.266 with six stolen bases after posting a.333 average and 58 steals in 2015.
“That’s my fault and no one else’s”. The season earned him a $50 million, five-year contract in January. The Marlins have remained in the NL wild-card race despite his absence but Gordon is ineligible to participate in the postgame as part of the suspension.

Gordon is expected to be Miami’s second base option for the remainder of the season, though the Marlins will be pressed to give Dietrich routine playing time, since Gordon won’t be eligible to play during the post-season. Is he optimistic he’ll play the way he did past year?
