“If it was up to Donald Trump, [Humayun] never would have been in America”, Khan said. “We still wonder what made him take those 10 steps, Khan’s father said in a recent interview”, Hillary Clinton said. “I will gladly lend you my copy”, he said, pulling a booklet from his coat pocket. Khan was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart, two of the military’s highest honors. He then waved a copy of the U.S. Constitution in the air and said: “Donald Trump, have you even read the constitution?”

Trump has repeatedly called for a ban on Muslim families like Khan’s from entering the U.S. The Khan family, his father said, and Muslim’s across America contribute immensely to this country, and want to work together to “rat out any traitor who walks amongst us”.
Calling himself a “patriotic American Muslim”, Kahn spoke directly to Trump.
“Donald Trump, you are asking Americans to trust you with our future”, he continued. “Donald Trump loves to build walls and ban us from this country”. “He disrespects other minorities, women, judges, even his own party leadership”.
It was also a message Khan hammered home when, standing next to his wife on stage, he took out a copy of the Constitution and held it in the air. “Go look at the graves of the courageous patriots who died defending this country”, he said. “In this document, look for the words “liberty” and ‘equal protection of law.'” Earlier this month, Trump promised Congressional Republicans that he would defend “Article XII” of the Constitution, which doesn’t exist. “You have sacrificed nothing and no one”.
Judging by the subsequent roar of the convention crowd, in under ten minutes, Khan transformed his grief into one of the most powerful indictments of the convention so far.
