Statesville residents should continue boiling water Thursday morning
East Sooke water users should boil their water for at least one minute before using it for domestic purposes (e.g. drinking, cooking, brushing teeth).

Customers within this service area may be without water or experience a significant loss of pressure.
The water system in Statesville is once again operating following a water line break.
A water main break has prompted a boil water advisory for people west of the Cooper River.
Water customers in the Statesville area are urged to conserve water whenever possible.
The advisory is to remain in effect until repairs are completed and testing shows the water quality to be safe.
The advisory was issued because periods of low or no pressure in the distribution system increase the potential for back siphonage and introduction of bacteria into the water system, officials said.

Several businesses, particularly restaurants, were closed as a result of the water issue. “Our ice has been isolated so that it has not been affected by contaminated water and so we are able to use that”.
