Pakistan taking unpleasant interest in imposing upon India their vicious motives: Khurshid
Opposition has been slamming the government for the problems in Kashmir and the way pellet guns were used to tackle protests that broke out in the state over Burhan Wani’s killing. More than 106,000 structures have been destroyed, more than 22000 women have been widowed, over 107,000 children have been orphaned and more than 10,000 women have been raped and molested by Indian military and paramilitary troops in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK).

A high-level meeting of Pakistan’s top political and military leadership on Friday made a decision to approach the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) and Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Contact Group on Kashmir to send a fact-finding mission to Indian-held Kashmir to investigate the killing of innocent civilians. Around 50 people have been killed and more than 3500 people injured.
All Pakistani missions overseas have been asked to approach the host governments and highlight the human rights violations in the IHK, the Foreign Adviser said.
New Delhi also called on Islamabad to stop “misleading” the global community, and Kashmiris, through military exercises, territorial claims, and threats to engage in conflict over the long-contested region.
The committee chairman also demanded that the government call an global conference on Kashmir issue to highlight Kashmir’s struggle and Indian’s brutal acts.
India has appealed Pakistan to stop shielding those terror elements who are manufacturing violence in Kashmir valley.
Pakistan has categorically rejected the claim that Kashmir is an integral part of India and demand the dispute be resolved under the relevant resolutions of the United Nations Security Council.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UN Maleeha Lodhi briefed President of the Security Council for July Japanese Ambassador Koro Bessho, Ban’s Chief of staff and Under Secretary General for Political Affairs Jeffrey Feltman on the situation in Kashmir, saying fundamental human rights were being “blatantly violated” in the state.
Pakistan observes Black Day to protest alleged atrocities in J-K.
After Pakistan observed “Kashmir Accession to Pakistan Day” on July 19 and Black Day on Kashmir (July 20) to mark the killing of Hizbul commander Burhan Wani, India hit back on Thursday, demanding that Islamabad give up its illegal occupation of PoK (Pakistan occupied Kashmir) and stop supporting violence and terrorism on Indian territory.
The Indian government asked the Pakistani government to ensure full safety and security of the Indian High Commission, all its officials and their families in Pakistan.
The committee, whose chief – Fazlur Rehman – was being criticised for his delay in calling the meeting, also expressed complete solidarity with the people of Kashmir and asked the government to raise the issue in the joint session of parliament.
Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif expressed “deep shock” over the killing of Wani and subsequent death of civilians in Kashmir due to police crackdown on protesters.
