Miss Cleo has died, actress famous for TV psychic infomercials

With a Jamaican accent, Miss Cleo, who’s real name is Youree Harris, would end the ad with, “Call me now for your free reading”. She had recently left the hospital and died at 53.

The woman who made the psychic character Miss Cleo famous has died, according to TMZ.

“She remained a pillar of strength throughout”, Cone said in a statement. Fans took to social media to reminisce on the times they had called Miss Cleo in hopes of learning what the future may have in store.

Born on August 13, 1962, Harris said she was raised by strict Caribbean parents who sent her to a high-end boarding school.

“You can’t fool Miss Cleo!” the commercials reassured, as she flipped over tarot cards and touted her otherworldly powers.

It was discovered by the Federal Trade Commission after the Access Resource Services (ARS), the company behind the hotline, was accused of committing a number of consumer violations, together with the Psychic Readers Network. Additionally, she voiced the character Auntie Poulet in the video game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City in 2002.

She was the subject of the 2014 documentary, “Hotline“, which followed hotline workers and their clients.

“I’m certain that I’ve helped some people”, Harris said. On Instagram, she called herself a “seer”.

But Crawford didn’t know what to think about Miss Cleo’s Jamaican patois. She also published a book.

In recent years, Harris had come out as a lesbian and became an advocate for the LGBTQ community in South Florida. They’ll say, “Do you see anything?”

“It’s taken 10 years for me to move through all of that, because in the Jamaican culture – especially with the way my father was – all you have is your word”, she said. She was just being passionate, but it wasn’t sitting right with me, so I said that they could do what they wanted, but that I wasn’t coming back.
