Chris Sale Apologizes To Fans, White Sox Teammates

Starting pitcher Chris Sale #49 of the Chicago White Sox delivers the ball against the Toronto Blue Jays at U.S. Cellular Field on June 26, 2016 in Chicago, Illinois. He continued, “Do I regret saying business should not be first before winning?”

“Do I regret standing up for what I believe in?” He reiterated that he would like to stay with the White Sox.

White Sox manager Robin Ventura would later reveal, relays The Chicago Tribune, that pitchers usually get to pick out the jerseys their team will wear during games which the pitcher starts, but promotional “themed days” are an exception. Sale was scratched from his start against the Detroit Tigers on Saturday night after he was involved in what the team said was a “non-physical clubhouse incident”. After first baseman Adam LaRoche retired late in spring training upon being told he could no longer bring his son into the clubhouse, Sale accused White Sox executive Kenny Williams of lying to the team, saying “Somebody walked out of those doors the other day and it was the wrong guy”. I’ve seen guys rip it up after”. This year is a different story as general manager Rick Hahn said he is exhausted of his team hovering around.500 and playing mediocre baseball.

When I saw that there was something in the way of that 100 percent winning mentality, I had an issue.

Sale didn’t sound like someone who wanted to be shipped out of the Windy City, either: “I want to win a championship in Chicago”.

“Seems like every time we have a little bit of a stir, things go right”, Eaton said. It’s a little more chipper, I guess you can say.

“[The ’76 uniforms] are uncomfortable and unorthodox”. I’ll never understand why we need to do something on the business side on the field that might impede us winning a game. “I don’t know what they are thinking now or what’s going on”. Not only that, but I didn’t want anything to alter my mechanics. “I’m sure it won’t be any different when he comes back”. Looking bad had absolutely zero to do with it. Nothing. White Sox manager Robin Ventura wouldn’t relent, which apparently doesn’t sit well with Sale. He deferred to Cooper, who said he didn’t want to talk about Sale but said Sale would be ready to pitch.

“I want to get out front and be clear to all of you: The actions or behaviors of the last 24 hours does not change in any aspect, any respect, our belief that Chris Sale can help this club win a championship, and win multiple championships”.

“We’ll deal with that when he gets here”, Ventura said. He has a 3.20 ERA, two complete games and 53 strikeouts in 13 starts with Triple-A Charlotte since the trade.
