TBS Greenlights Notorious BIG Project
Variety reports that “TBS is developing a scripted series based on the lyrics of Notorious B.I.G”. The project is being produced and created by Mass Appeal, in partnership with Wayne Barrow of Bystorm Films and Voletta Wallace for Notorious B.I.G.

It nearly sounds like what Biggie is rapping about on Ready To Die, and seeing how Big’s lyrics are the inspiration for the plot, we’ll probably see some memorable Christopher Wallace lines woven into the story.
There is now no set date or trailer available for the Biggie inspired show “Think B.I.G”. Baz Luhrmann’s Netflix show The Get Down focusing on the birth of hip-hop is also premiering on August 12. Already in production, the comedy features amusing, weird and often joyful stories told by musicians, actors, comedians and writers telling true accounts that have been animated and expose the absurdities of celebrity culture.
The series is a result of a new strategic partnership Turner-owned TBS has with Mass Appeal, a 20-year-old company that creates content that reflects the urban American landscape.

It will debut across TBS digital and social media platforms this autumn. Watch the pilot here. “There’s no better partner for us to connect with this vibrant, impassioned audience”, added Weitz. “I think our marriage will produce programming that will inspire a huge cross-section of people to tune in, interact and, in the case of TBS, laugh their asses off”. Both projects will be produced by Mass Appeal.
