Donald Trump accepts party’s nomination at GOP convention
Republicans expressed frustration after his non-endorsement of Donald Trump at the Republican National Convention Wednesday night, and there are real questions whether it could ruin the election for the GOP by pushing some voters away from their presidential nominee.

“I think that looking at his children and how great they all are and how much they all love their father tells you a lot about the man as a parent”, Kiernan said.
The property billionaire highlighted recent instances of civil unrest in the United States, and the shootings of police officers, and confidently predicted that “safety would be restored” when he became president.
He accused Clinton, his far-more-experienced Democratic rival, of utterly lacking the good judgment to serve in the White House and as the military’s commander in chief.
“The problems we face now – poverty and violence at home, war and destruction overseas – will last only as long as we continue relying on the same politicians who created them in the first place”, Trump said.
“I don’t want his endorsement”, Trump said angrily, in a rambling stream-of-consciousness performance that seemed half standup routine, half-vengeful rant.
Trump’s clashes with fellow Republicans created divisions that remained apparent at this week’s convention, traditionally a show of party unity.
And in the Reality Check, Mehdi Hasan takes a look at what the rest of the world thinks about a potential Trump presidency.
He pledged to stick to his most controversial proposals, which include building a wall along the entire US-Mexico border and suspending immigration from nations “compromised by terrorism”.
Earlier, Trump was introduced on the stage by his daughter Ivanka Trump who said that her father is the “People’s nominee”. He now trails Clinton, who is seeking to become the first woman elected U.S. president, in most opinion polls. “I know nothing about his father”, he added. Ivanka Trump called for “making quality childcare affordable and accessible for all” and “equal pay for equal work” for women – using the language, if not policy details, typically employed by Democrats. I don’t see him winning anyway frankly. “I’m am proud to be gay, I am proud to be a Republican, but mostly I am proud to be an American”, Thiel said. All those positions go against prevailing Republican beliefs.
Ivanka Trump was a big hit among the delegates. Ted Cruz, was booed off the stage for refusing to endorse Trump and urging Republicans instead to “vote your conscience”.

“I assume the reason they wanted me to speak is they believed my delivering that message would encourage people to come out and vote, and they believed it would help”.
