Menendez: Trump’s Russian Federation hacking comments ‘act of treason’

Donald Trump reacted to the contentious breakfast Monday morning with a tweet that said, “The state of Florida is so embarrassed by the antics of crooked Hillary Clinton and Debbie Wasserman Schultz that they will vote for change!” Both Russia and Mr Trump denied the allegation.

Her departure, long sought by Mr Sanders, is aimed at drawing a line under the scandal as establishment Democrats seek desperately to unite the party behind Mrs Clinton, who goes up against Republican Donald Trump in the November presidential election.

Her exit comes after the release of hacked emails that suggest some Democratic National Committee staff members favored Clinton over primary rival Bernie Sanders.

“I’d like to see Manafort’s tax returns, not just Trump’s”, Dean said.

The convention closes Thursday night following Clinton’s acceptance speech, during which the former secretary of state will make the case that she is better fit to be commander-in-chief than Trump.

Many observers offered a swift rebuke, claiming that Trump had essentially invited a foreign country to hack the USA and intervene in the elections. Instead, he said, Trump was “clearly saying” that if Russian Federation or anyone else already had Clinton’s deleted emails they should share them with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

In a statement Sunday, she said: “I look forward to serving as a surrogate for her campaign in Florida and across the country to ensure her victory”.

“Debbie Wasserman Schultz resigned over her failure to secure the DNC’s email servers and the rigged system she set up with the Clinton campaign”.

“The Russians have those emails, they’ve had them for some time”.

Although some Democrats have wondered aloud whether Trump committed a crime in his remarks directed at Russian Federation, the prospect of any prosecution is considered nil because of the strong guarantee of speech rights in the United States.

Trump’s running mate, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, meanwhile, issued a statement Wednesday about the hack, saying there should be “consequences” for those responsible.

Obama traditionally avoids commenting on active FBI investigations but told NBC News on Tuesday that outside experts have blamed Russian Federation for the leak. The Fox host also asked Trump about his past comments praising Putin. Trump said he has no relationship with Putin.
