Watch The First Woman Nominated For President By Major Party

Priscilla Chavez, a delegate from New Mexico, said she believes Obama can transfer his popularity to Clinton.

“I’m not really at liberty to divulge the specifics of actions other than to tell you stay in touch with California”. But her primary focus was persuading Americans to not be seduced by Trump’s vague promises to restore economic security and fend off threats from overseas. Clinton said her primary mission as president will be to create more opportunity and more good jobs with rising wages. Ret. Marine General John R. Allen, a former commander in Afghanistan, will underscore the same point. “We must seize this moment to elect Hillary Clinton as president of the United States of America”. American flags waved in the stands of the packed convention hall. Sanderistas see the Democratic Party and its elite as corporatist, with the nominee on Goldman Sachs’ payroll and big business funding her campaign. “I sweat the details of policy”, she said. “And that’s kind of what I want to do”.

“I think this issue has turned beyond politics and rhetoric”, Clinton’s campaign manager Robby Mook told “CBS This Morning”.

Over the past four days at the Wells Fargo Arena, some of the most powerful and influential people in the country have hit the convention stage, building a case for a Clinton-led White House. And Clinton’s own shifting answers on her use of a private email server. Perhaps the most persuasive, or at least intriguing, of these forecasts strongly suggests that Clinton will nearly certainly win her bid for the White House, but with one big caveat: the first female president will only serve one term.

The meeting dissolved after about five minutes, as party officials took the stage and Clinton supporters gathered to counter the Sanders protesters with chants of “Hillary!”

One of the shorthand characterizations of our two political parties that has long had some truth to it has been that the Democrats are the mommy party, and the Republicans, the daddy party.

President Barack Obama has joined in the mudslinging, as well, on Wednesday rejecting Trump’s motto “Make America Great Again”.

While he was occasionally interrupted by one attendee who loudly criticized Clinton, the event was largely incident-free, allowing Sanders to make his stump speech, adding his push to make the Democratic nominee the next president.

The protests come just hours before the final day of the Democratic convention was set to start and before Clinton is set to deliver her prime-time address. Khizr Khan, an American Muslim whose son was killed in military service, emotionally implored voters to stop Trump, who has called for a temporary ban on Muslim immigration. And I promise you, our strength, our greatness, does not depend on Donald Trump’. “Let me ask you, have you even read the United States Constitution?” The program paid tribute to law enforcement officers killed on duty, including five who died in Dallas earlier this month in retaliation for officer-involved shootings in Minnesota and Louisiana.

Clinton portrayed Trump as a threat to the country, saying “a man you can bait with a tweet is not a man we can trust with nuclear weapons”.

Sanders is an Independent in the Senate but also a member of the Democratic Party, according to his spokesman, Michael Briggs. The difference, they said, is that she will also offer specific solutions for some of those problems in a speech that was still being tweaked today.
