Ken Barrie, passed away at his home in Uxbridge near London after a short battle with cancer.

He provided the voice of the popular fictional postman as well as singing the show’s theme tune, which was released as a single and spent 15 weeks in the top 75.
Barrie, who was born in Tunstall in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, voiced the famous postman from 1981.
In a statement, daughter Lorraine Peston, said: “He was the master of different characters and voices”.
Meanwhile, his talent didn’t just stop there as he also appeared on an album with Fred Astaire and Bing Crosby. “He was very reserved about what he did but he loved it and got to work with his heroes”.
Barrie narrated the first four seasons of the BBC show before handing over the voice of Pat to actor Lewis MacLeod.
Mr Barrie helped out with singing voices for many big actors in feature films and on television.
One of the most poignant social media messages included a drawing of Postman Pat’s beloved Jess the cat crying.

Ken also recorded sang the soundtracks for “Charlie Chalk”, “Sharks” Treasure” and “Emily’.
