Fight breaks out between Cam Newton, Josh Norman during Panthers’ training camp

If you asked me if your team’s best corner could take Tom Brady or Matt Ryan or Geno Smith, I’d say absolutely.

The fight was broken up, but there’s still plenty of ill will.

While training camp is usually full of these kinds of dust-ups, very rarely do you see it occurring where it involves the team’s quarterback.

Personally, I’d love to be privy to the knowledge that Cam Newton could pass along in such a scuffle.

Scott Fowler, of the Charlotte Observer, tweeted out a photo of a pile of Panthers saying “Cam Newton after fight with Josh Norman following Josh pick”. Newton pursued, but felt Norman hit him while he was running. “That’s stupid”.

The Panthers just gave Newton a $100 million contract.

The Panthers held their annual Fan Fest event on Friday and one fan in particular got an unexpected present from an unexpected source.

Newton was wearing a red jersey during practice, which is supposed to signal to other players to not touch or tackle him.

Newton reportedly addressed the team after the scuffle.

Newton did not respond to two questions from Observer reporters as he walked off the field toward the locker room following practice.

It was an intense practice from the beginning.

It appears things had been escalating between Newton and Norman, who has the reputation of being a feisty practice player and a young man who doesn’t back down from a challenge.
