We’ll carry Clinton to victory, says Obama

“Our strength, our greatness does not depend on Donald Trump”.

“She’s a woman driven by compassion, by faith, by a fierce sense of justice and a heart full of love”, the only child of presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton and former US President Bill Clinton told the crowd.

The 68-year-old Clinton, Obama’s secretary of state from 2009 to 2013, appeared briefly with him Wednesday on stage at the Democratic National Convention In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, after he delivered a ringing endorsement of her as his successor.

“I have held out until the very end, until I heard from Bernie that it is time to move on and support Hillary and I am going to do it”, said Canaan, Vt., resident Martha Allen, the head of the Vermont chapter of the National Education Association, the first union in the nation to support Sanders. “That starts with listening to each other, hearing each other, trying, as best we can, to walk in each other’s shoes”. Pop star and long-time Hillary supporter Katy Perry serenaded the crowd, and Clinton’s daughter, Chelsea, gave a moving introduction of her mother.

“We don’t look to be ruled”, Mr. Obama said, in his most scathing attack on Mr. Trump, naming him several times.

Obama spearheaded a day-long effort by Democrats to depict Trump as unfit to be commander-in-chief, contrasting the political neophyte with his more experienced Democratic rival. “Best president ever”, someone screamed. He claimed his goal was to stress the importance of unifying the Democratic party in order to defeat Trump. Clinton’s message has been that “even if we don’t agree on everything, I will listen and provide context and understanding around the decisions I make as a leader”. “And if you’re serious about our democracy, you can’t afford to stay home just because she might not align with you on every issue”, the president said in his 44-minute speech. She knows she’s made mistakes, just like I have; just like we all do.

And he offered a nod to the supporters of Sen. It doesn’t make sense that Sanders would endorse Clinton out of fear of Trump becoming president, especially since Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein shares a platform with significantly more similarities to Sanders’ campaign than Clinton’s.

“He loses his cool at the slightest provocation”, Clinton said. In 2012, with Obama in trouble in his re-election bid, it was Bill Clinton who righted and energized Obama’s campaign with his superb convention speech.

“Nothing truly prepares you for the demands of the Oval Office”, Obama said. “Until you’ve sat at that desk, you don’t know what it’s like to manage a global crisis or send young people to war”. Obama portrayed her as his political heir.

President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden praised Clinton’s readiness for the duties of the presidency and attempted to draw a contrast between her readiness and that of Republican nominee Donald Trump.

Will people vote Hillary to keep Obama’s legacy alive?

Biden used the distinctly Biden tools at his disposal to assemble a succinct takedown of Donald Trump’s vision of America. We are not a fragile or frightful people.
