Tim Kaine speaks of personal faith, untrustworthiness of Donald Trump

In a move aimed at broadening Clinton’s appeal, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg – an independent who considered launching a third party bid for president – will endorse the Democratic nominee.

Trust is a big issue for Clinton’s campaign because numerous polls show voters think she’s untrustworthy in the wake of the email scandal. He recalled the tough fight Clinton put up during the 2008 election, and said she was doing “everything I was doing, but just like Ginger Rogers, it was backwards in heels”.

“‘Believe me?’ Here’s the thing”.

Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta praised Kaine’s “strong progressive credentials”, saying he “comes from a place of deep conviction”.

Vice Presidential candidate Tim Kaine is the latest high profile politician to stop by unannounced at the Florida delegation gathering.

As a civil rights lawyer for 17 years, Kaine said he took on banks and abusive landlords, “anyone who treated people unfairly”. But he remains largely unknown on the national political stage. He introduced himself to the American public, switching between English and Spanish and talking about his time as a Catholic missionary in Honduras.

“Lin’s still a Republican but he’s voting for an terrible lot of Democrats these days”, said Kaine.

The Virginia senator, who drew chants of “Si se puede” from the crowd, spent his time on stage touting Clinton’s campaign platform, while mocking Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump as untrustworthy and unsafe for the United States.

The strategy is clear, and if it is effective, Clinton/Kaine may win by a landslide.

“Thomas disclaimed all men were equal and Abigail remembered the women”.

Yet the threat of Trump hasn’t led to an open embrace of Kaine by liberals, who had pined for Clinton to select Massachusetts Sen. Some on the left felt spurned after Clinton passed over left-leaning favorites for the position, including Elizabeth Warren and Cory Booker.

In his speech, Kaine also gave acknowledgement to Bernie Sanders, Clinton’s bitter rival in the primaries, in an effort to rally millions of Sanders supporters behind Clinton in the November 8 general election. Other speakers include President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden. Kaine has also pushed for some bank deregulation, and, despite his moral opposition to the death penalty, eleven executions were carried out while he was the governor.

Kaine’s record is one of a pragmatic, even cautious leader.
