CNN Reminisces About America’s God Daughter, ‘Awkward Little’ Chelsea Clinton

Chelsea Clinton, daughter of Hillary and Bill, will be introducing her mother tonight at the DNC, just as Ivanka introduced her father at the RNC last week.

It might be hard to believe, but Chelsea Clinton and Ivanka Trump are longtime friends. Chelsea’s speech was calm, composed and completely focused on bringing out why Americans should vote for her mother, rather than not vote for Donald Trump – a sharp deviation from Barack Obama’s speech from a day before when he ripped into the Republican presidential candidate for his views and statements.

Making up stories about what we would do if we met a Triceratops – in my opinion, the friendliest looking dinosaur – although my mother would remind me that they were still dinosaurs.

She will be introducing her mother, Hillary Clinton, at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia as Hillary accepts the party’s nomination for the 2016 presidential election.

Deakin University US politics expert Dr Geoff Robinson told The New Daily Ivanka and Chelsea were intentionally used in this way to try and remedy perceived flaws in their parent’s image.

“My earliest memory is my mom picking me up, giving me a big hug and reading me ‘Good Night Moon, ‘” Chelsea said.

“First laddy”, she mused. But fortunately for her, Hillary Clinton is far less dependent on the next generation than Donald Trump.

Chelsea Clinton on Thursday offered a deeply personal portrait of her mother, Hillary Clinton, recalling notes left for her during out-of-town trips and visits to dinosaur museums. Maureen Reagan was a political creature (she ran unsuccessfully for a Senate seat in California during her father’s first term), but she was not particularly close to Reagan.

Nicole LaChapelle, a delegate from MA, said that it was especially notable since Hillary Clinton could have chosen to have her husband introduce her tonight rather than having him speak on Tuesday. “And I love Ivanka and I think that friendship always trumps politics and that’s how it should be”. “I hope they are even just a fraction of as proud of me as I am about my mom”. “It has nothing to do with the 36 years I’ve been so lucky to know my mom, and call her mom”. “I might have to pull daughter rank on that”. She spoke of how her mother had always been there for her and said “that feeling-being valued and loved-that’s something my mom wants for every child”. When she went to France to learn about the childcare system, I remember one was all about the eiffel tower. And I know my kids are a little young, but I’m already trying to instill those same values in them.

And her first major moment in the worldwide spotlight could be a sign of things to come, should Hillary Clinton become president of the United States in November. I’ve seen my mother promising to do everything she could to help. “If you got to ask her a question about how her father would do that, what would it be?” Still, she added, “There’s certainly tremendous intensity around both of our lives right now”. She and Mezvinsky’s second child, a son named Aidan Clinton Mezvinsky, was born June 18. I am so grateful to be her daughter.
