From Rolling Stone: An energetic Tim Kaine mocked Donald Trump, utilized his fluent Spanish and made the case for Hillary Clinton in the vice presidential nominee’s Democratic National Convention speech Wednesday night.

The two-term president rallied his party’s faithful at their national convention, offering a comprehensive endorsement of his first secretary of state as the one person uniquely qualified to succeed him. “And now I’m ready to pass the baton and do my part as a private citizen”. But while Obama’s moving speech at Wednesday’s Democratic National Convention had viewers sad to see him go, the convention’s grand finale will look toward the future, as Clinton officially accepts her party’s presidential nomination.
The Trump campaign also released statements detailing criticisms against the Obama administration, saying its policies “unleashed ISIS”, and left “Syria in chaos”, “Libya in ruins”, and “Egypt in disarray”.
President Obama praised Clinton, whom he beat in 2008 to clinch the the Democratic nomination. “You can read about it. You can study it. Until you’ve sat at that desk, you don’t know what it’s like to manage a global crisis, or send young people to war”.
“Hillary is judged by some because of her voice, the clothes she wears”.
“The Donald is not really a plans guy. Not really a facts guy, either”, he said of Trump. “I know Hillary”, he said. “What makes us American, what makes us patriots, is what’s in here”.
But Obama says Clinton “ultimately said yes” because “she knew that what was at stake was bigger than either of us”.
Former US president Bill Clinton, filling the role of devoted political spouse, joined the crowd packed to the arena rafters in cheering the attacks on Mr Trump.
A son of Scranton, Pennsylvania, Biden appealed directly to the working class white voters who have been drawn to Trump’s populism, warning them against falling for false promises and exploitation of Americans’ anxieties. How will her speech compare and what will she do to help sell herself to Democrats in Philadelphia and Democrats and Independents watching from home?
“Donald Trump calls it “a divided crime scene” that only he can fix”, Obama said of the Republican nominee’s descriptions of the state of the country. “Democracy isn’t a spectator sport. I ask you to carry her the same way you carried me, because you’re who I was talking about 12 years ago when I talked about hope”, he said, harking back to his own campaign. “I am getting hit and they don’t mean it and there’s a lot of lies being told”, he said. And it came at a time when the Democrats desperately needed a pick me up.

That included himself and her husband, former president Bill Clinton. Take Republican Donald Trump at his word, and if elected, he’d undo just about everything Obama has done, from climate change and immigration to trade and foreign relations.
