Hillary Clinton: 2016 election a ‘moment of reckoning’

“After all, when there are no ceilings, the sky’s the limit”.

Her speech greatly contrasted that of her Republican opponent Donald Trump, proving to be optimistic about America’s future and the power of working together.

Their political fates now entwined, President Barack Obama will implore voters Wednesday to elect Hillary Clinton to the White House, appealing to the women, minorities and young people who powered his rise and are now crucial to hers.

“The Donald is not really a plans guy”.

“She was doing everything I was doing, but just like Ginger Rogers, backwards and in heels”.

“We’ve been consumed with crisis after crisis after crisis”, he said.

“There’s only one person in this race, who will be there, who’s always been there for you”, he declared.

Are we sure we can’t have Obama for four more years? Obama went onto win the presidency, and Clinton became the secretary of state in his cabinet.

“But if you’re someone who’s truly concerned about paying your bills, and seeing the economy grow, and creating more opportunity for everybody, then the choice isn’t even close”, he added.

An email hack on the Democratic National Committee before the convention showed that party officials showed favour to Mrs Clinton and tried to undermine Mr Sanders’ campaign, further painting Mrs Clinton as an insider politician. But Clinton made a direct appeal to his backers. You’ve seen a multi-night showcasing of her battles for gun control, attested to by a parade of bereaved mothers whose sons or daughters were gunned down by cops, or mothers whose policemen-sons and daughters were gunned down by bad guys. “Our country needs your ideas, energy and passion”.

Aside from the protestors, the crowd was otherwise rabid in its support for Clinton, chanting “Hillary! She’s been part of the decision, she knows what’s at stake in decisions”.

What political news is the world searching for on Google and talking about on Twitter? When she served as his secretary of state, Obama was able to have a “front row seat to her intelligence, her judgment, her discipline”.

Now, Clinton is the first former spouse of a president to be nominated for the White House.

“Instead, help Donald Trump hold her accountable, call out her lies and fight back against her nasty attacks”.

“This morning, this very morning, (Trump) invited Russian Federation to hack us”.

“We will not build a wall”, Clinton said. “Now we’ve got to move away from coal and all the other fossil fuels, but I don’t want to move away from the people who did the best they could to produce the energy that we relied on”.

Kaine’s would-be shining moment will come just hours after Bill Clinton enraptured the overflow convention audience with talk of his wife’s career and life as a “change-maker”.

Democrats have little noted the threat of terrorism or the Islamic State group, though both were expected to be more relevant in Wednesday’s program. “That’s what happens when we try”. Some supporters of Clinton’s primary rival, Bernie Sanders, continued to voice their displeasure with the pick, but there was nothing they could do to take the nomination away from Clinton.
